Went Saturday morn to a side of my property that I usually don't start off on due no real way to sneak in or get in front of birds. Sat for awhile and heard absolutely zero gobbling. Worked out of there to some main roads through pines, stopping to call every 100 yards or so. Made it to a blind with a seat I had set up on 1 last road i could hunt around 9 and decided to sit down for a few minutes and rest before headed back to the truck. Sat in teh blind maybe 15 minutes when a bird let loose about 150 yds down the road in a small food plot. I called and he gobbled again much closer. For the next 15 minutes i watched this bird work down this road towards me gobbling as he went trying to find me. Wound up working around small patch of tall weeds in front of me to a shot at about 10 steps. Never once strutted but did finish off nicely with a gobble right before jumping in the back of my turkey vest for a ride to the truck. Maybe the OG patch was too much for him to handle!
