A post I just replied to got me to thinking, hence the reason for this thread. Why is it that the big names in turkey hunting ammo keep changing things!? Rhetorical question, I know why, its about the money and "staying on top". Years ago, when winchester first came out with the "high velocity" rounds in the black shells, I shot them and they shot FANTASTIC! Prior to the next season opener, I picked up a couple new boxes and they got mixed in with the leftovers from the previous year. A buddy and I went hunting and got on some birds, while waiting for them to get where we both could shoot, they wound up getting to 30 yards or so. I would have shot them at 40 if it werent for waiting to try to get 2. Clean miss! I went home, checked my gun, and the first shot was just like it had always been. I tried another and it was TERRIBLE! The difference was that some were old (good) and some were new, (terrible). I decided then and there that I was going to do something and started shooting nitro rays ammo. Unfortunately, even Ray has changed some things in his recipes and Im in contact with him now to see if he can go back to loading me some of what used to be THE BEST ammo I had ever shot. If Ray doesnt come through for me, Im done shooting ANY ammo that I dont make myself! In fact, a search for components and load data is what brought me here in the first place! After getting registered, I see that the reloading section that used to be here is no longer available. Perhaps somebody here has the load data and pages saved and would be willing to forward them to me via email?????? PLEASE!!!!! LOL
