Anyone have one? how is it shooting, friends kid has one and just got a hevi shot choke for it. I have some hevi 13 7s that I would think should do well, also some Win. number 5 lead.

I bought one to use as a dedicated turkey gun.  First problem that I had with it was an Indian Creek choke would not screw in the barrel.   The guy at IC told me that I was the 4th guy he had talked to that had SA20's with this problem.  I tried an undertaker choke that my brother was using in his SA20 and it wouldn't go in the barrel either.   Next problem, it will not eject low brass shells.  Then, after the 6th shot with turkey loads sighting in, the bolt broke.  The bolt was stuck closed so I took it to a gunsmith and he disassembled it and gave me the pieces of the bolt.  The top of the bolt assembly is some kind of cast material and it broke in a seam.   I called Mossberg and they put me on hold for over 30 minutes so I emailed them and tomorrow (4/20) will have been two weeks without a reply.  I know these guns are made by Armsan in Turkey for Mossberg but I expected better customer service from Mossberg.   I will NEVER own another Mossberg gun, I can promise you that.

Not a surprise on the lack of quality, but Mossberg is normally better than that! I guess he got lucky the choke went right in the barrel, he looked for a choke and could not find one, if he would have just called me I could have told him what to get in about 2 seconds.

His will not shoot light loads either and I had a cheap turkish auto that the bolt did the same thing in, was a super light gun and actually ran great for a few years before that, I scrapped it!

Your brother ever get to pattern his?

Yes, the both patterned very well with a Trulock .585 and TSS.  It's a shame too because I really liked the feel of the gun.

Everything patterns good with tss!

Just shot it with the hevi tube, Winchester 5s were mediocre at best, 35 yards would be pushing your luck, hevi shot 7 3" 1 1/4 were really nice and were definitely  35 yard worthy, did not shoot 40 at all but i do not doubt it would do the trick at 40.

I have 2 SA-20  Turkey Thug guns.. great turkey guns.   As for the chokes not working... what most don't know is these Mossberg International gun (Turkish made) are a different deal... just like the Weatherby SA guns....  they take Beretta/Benelli chokes.

I did a lot of testing.. as for the best 10in numbers... Sumtoy with Fed HW #7 hands down.. 178 hits as seen below..

The undertaker choke that wouldn't go in my barrel had just been taken out of my brothers SA 20!!!  I know what chokes it takes, as we had 8 different ones to try.  After finally getting in touch with Mossberg, the guy told me there are no parts available for this gun and it must be sent back to their service center for repair and I had to pay the shipping.  Maybe I just got a lemon, but it's the last Mossberg lemon I will ever own.
