Doris and I just returned from Stutgart, AR where the World Championship Turkey Calling Contest & Mack's Prairie Wings Still Target Shoot took place.

Preston Pittman, Matt Morrett, Eddie Salter, Paul Butski, Mark Coin and several motel's full of callers were there, Those folks are serious. They practiced from late last night until early this morning! The calling contest began at 6:30 a.m. and the shoot at 9:00 a.m. (I'm sure someone here will have and post the final results of that contest.)

Mack's Prairie Wings was full of call contestants, fans, experts in both calling and fishing as well as shoppers and shooteres today. I don't know that I've seen that many serious outdoors folks in any one place, outside the NWTF Convention.

The still target shoot was well attended with both local and out of town shooters. It was hosted by Kelly and Mike Sorensen from Hevi-Shot. They traveled from Sweet Home, Oregon to organize, officiate and sponsor the event.

Officials from the NWTF, Mack's and local chapters were there to help, and shoot. Spectators, from the community and the surrounding areas, who'd heard about the shoot and just wanted to know what it was all about were also there.

The weather was great in the mid-60s for most of the day, the accomodations were excellent and a good time was had by all.

If you've never visited Mack's Prairie Wings or Stutgart, I'd recommend that you put it on your list of things to do. It's a very friendly place.

Lastly, we got home before the ice, freezing rain and snow that are predicted this weekend.

Thanks,
Clark

Thank you. We're currently having sleet and it's supposed to last all day and then turn to snow. We already have several inches of sleet everywhere.

Thanks again,
Clark
