Has anybody tried out the federal premium mag shok heavyweight 3.5" #6 or 7 with the pure gold tempest .660 turkey choke?

That is a tough shell to figure out. The federal 12 gauge flight control wad is fickle. William at SumToy has had good luck with the federals and the flight control wad. I would contact him if I was to shoot that shell.

Yes sir, I gave it a test ride in both of my 11-87's they have a 21" pipe (3"). I could only get in the ball park of 120ish in the ten at 40. I know with the heviweight that number would be just fine. But I sent mine back and bought a Choke from George Truelock. I'm getting 180+ with it in my 3" guns, and 200+ in my 3.5 guns. This was shooting the #7 shot.
Don't gobble at me...

I would be using it out of a mossberg 535 turkey thug with a 20 inch barrel

Try a regular full choke. I have a comp in choke and a pure gold 670 and the full did better.

Never was impressed with the Flite Control Wads. I got better performance from the Strut Shok line up in the Blue Box.

I have a factory full choke (.710) for my 835 that will shoot the (you know what)out of flight control wad shells
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

We use the 3 and 3.5 7 's in a new england 3.5 in full choke, they are killers, they seem to like a full choke better, get around  130  in a 10 in. At 40 yards with the 3 in load, never fired the 3.5 on paper but they seem to kill just as good.
Hunt every day as if it were your last.

Trulock choke made for the federal heavyweight #7  :icon_thumright:

Spring Fever

My factory choke shot them better than any ported after market choke I've tried in my 835.
