My nephew who goes to college at MIZZOU just texted me and said he just got 6 boxes of the Longbeards at Bass Pro in the 3" #6's for me(19.99/box).Although I dont use the 12 much anymore,I am excited to try these out and add a few to the stash. On another note,he said they had Federal .22 375 count for $18,but they wouldnt sell to him because he's not 21 and its considered "pistol ammo".Told him that was "BS" because first of all,its not centerfire, and second just about any rifle ammo used in a contender could be labeled the same.Kinda irks me when they pull crap like that!!

Hopefully Winchester will develop a 20 ga load in the longbeards VERY soon!!!

Awesome score!  I got me a box of 3inch 6 shot about two weeks ago...the bad weather has keep me from testing any yet.

On the .22 ammo....that is crazy.  Here's something that is crazy also....I have been working in Law Enforcement since I was 18 (in my 30's now).  Went to the Police Academy at 18...turned 19 while in the academy.  Graduated working as a police officer and I half to take my dad with me to buy my .357 sig ammo for my duty weapon  :begging:.  That was crazy to me!  (Small department had to buy my own ammo)

got one better than that one for you,my nephew is in the Army National Guard (19 years old)
LGS would not sell him any pistol ammo because of not 21.
Got me to thinking, something is wrong here, can be called up to defend his country, issued an automatic weapon and pistol, but can't buy pistol ammo at home
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

I can identify with that. In KY you had to be 21 except for a very brief period in the middle of the Vietnam War when there were so many police officers retiring and also being called up in both reserve and national guard units that there was a terrible shortage. At that time the legal age was lowered to 18 for maybe a couple of years.

Those were very turbulent times and we lost more officers than at any other time since 1893 when the department began. Many were my friends.

Guns were hard to come by as was ammo. it sometimes took a year to get a particular gun and ammo selection was very limited. When the riots hit in mid-1968 through late 1969, it was pretty tough. Officers brought in what they had, there were no qualifications with particular guns and ammo back then. You were lucky just to have something.

It's interesting to view things in the light of history.

Thanks,
Clark
