Hey guys new guy to the forum. Now I have patterned my gun before and found that my 835 shoots hevi 13 3.5" #5 extremely well last two birds have increased my confidence. However this year I want to use a 20 ga gun. I've got an 870 20 ga 21" bbl. I'm going to start off with a rem super full and fed hw #7 3" first. Here is my question the choke states lead only but I want to get my poi first and was gonna use my fed dove loads (the six case you can buy from Wally World) to get my poi. I just wanted to check with everyone that there won't be an issue using this load with a lead only choke? Can you fellas shoot me in the right direction.

For right now I'm going to start with the rem sf choke and possibly tru glo ssx. I know sumtoys has been praised highly but right now I'm gonna hold off on that 65 bucks until I find one on classifieds. Thanks guys!

The first thing you might find this by shooting those cheaper dove loads is that your point of impact might be different than when you go to shoot whatever turkey load to go to pattern with! Maybe, i'm no expert but I read a lot of other people's post on here and have different tubes and loads change the point of impacts. For instance when I bought an Indian Creek Choke tube, shooting the same shells that I shot for years out of my super Black Eagle II. My son shoots a Remington 870 Junior model with a jelly head choke tube and Winchester extended range 3 inch number five shells and it could kill a turkey out to 40 yards if his ability to shoot 40 yards was there. That gun also only has a 20" barrel too. You can also find lots of handy advice in the turkey gun section of the forum.
