Heavenly Father,
As we come to you today, we have mixed emotions. Feelings of gladness and joy with the birth of Your son; feelings of guilt and remorse of the sins in our lives, and feelings of sorrow and sadness for our brother Rick and his wife. We thank You for the birth of Your son Jesus, and his death on the cross, for our sins. We thank you for Jesus and his resurrection, and knowing you love us so much, that You allowed Him to be crucified for our sins, to where we could come to You in all things, knowing how much You love us.
We come to You now, with heavy hearts, tears, and for some, anger and unbelief, asking for Your presence to be felt for Rick, and his wife. Lord we lift them up to You as the Great Comforter. Give them both assurance, and unity, as husband and wife. Let them have communication between the two of them, as You joined them together, as husband and wife. Let all which needs to be communicated be spoken, with nothing left unfinished. Let Your hands cover them in a blanket of peace.
We ask for the Holy Counselor to give Rick the wisdom and knowledge to use it, in taking care of his wife, and the situations he faces ahead. Give him assurance, You are still watching over him. Guard his heart, and protect him from all things unseen, and seen. Be with the family, and help all to unite together, with no bickering, or fuss, but in acts of love, and unselfishness.
Be with all the medical staff who oversee his wife's care. Give them the direction they need to go in her treatment, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Father, we hurt for our brother, but acknowledge his Faith in You. May his faith be rewarded with Your presence and peace. Not for Rick's glory and honor, but for You. For we will give You the glory and honor You so well deserve.
It is in the Great Comforter's name, the name of Jesus, we ask and claim these things, Amen!!
