Anybody fish for Peacocks in South Florida or have a good guide to recommend?
Thanks,
Jim

The canal system in Broward & Dade county has them , do a Google search for bait and tackle shops for that area and they will be able to point you in the right direction -try talking to some folks in the fishing dept at the Dania beach bass pro shops , its the largest fishing shop in that area - I'm not much of a fisherman , but I know that the good spots are hard to come by  --- Shannon

Talked to my Buddy today -- he said you have to fish the" Miami airport "by the hotel its a Hilton or Mariot -- and do it before the weather gets cold

Many

Most canals in Dade county have them but often you are fishing in someones backyard or near a traffic filled road.Try c-111 canal on us 1 15 miles south of Florida city. You will need a small boat,50-50 mix of largemouths and peacocks. The peacocks, due to their place of origin become sluggish in cold water.

I live one mile from teh Fl line so what is considered cold water in Dade Co.?

Approximate temps or better yet what months to avoid.

From what I've learned, they die in water under 60 degrees.  Information is kind of conflicting at times.  Some guides claim year round bites, some don't.  We're actually looking at Puerto Rico some too.  Weather won't be a factor there.  I'll post some pics if and when we make a decision and actually go.

Thanks again.
