Guys I have a chance to buy a older DSD hen decoy for a reasonable price. Is there anyway to tell the difference between the older model and the new ones with the ACE technology.  Without actually holding them I should say.

The guy that has it for sale send me a picture of the decoy and the head doesn't look as good as the new ones pictured on the DSD website.  Could it be the older version.

I never had the opportunity to see one of the DSD decoys in person.

Are you able to ask him about how hard the platic on it is? I have one of the Ace ones and the plastic kinda gives a little bit if you push in on it. The old ones i believe were hard as a rock. Hope this helps ya some.  :-\

As WVFrid mentioned, it will give a little, but if you can get the older version at a good price, then go for it.   The older version looks really good, head and all.

I have a newer one and its like hard rubber but  the older ones are like hard plastic and my buddies cracked on the neck. If its a good price I would take it though. Both paint jobs are just awesome !!!

Thanks for the  info guys, I'm pretty sure it's a older version.  I really want one of the new versions, So i passed on it, I got a new ACE for $105 shipped, so I saved alittle bit on a new one anyway.

The guy put the other decoy on ebay for $85, plus $16 shipped, if anyone is interested.

It's been awhile since I hunted over a decoy for turkey, can't wait till this upcoming season.

I thought the old ones were pretty fragile so for an extra $20 I will take the new one.
