I know it is pic heavy but man I am proud of these, experimenting with different wood combos and sizes and shapes. Each one is unique, but very close to the same sound. mature raspy hen with purrs and kee-kees....each wood type required different thickness and hole location on the tongue. Also have a couple with secret internals that really set the volume qualities. Used everything from Holly to Mahogany in these, for the striking surface I have found black walnut and mahogany the best sounding. you have to keep them chalked and the best striker I have found is red cedar.
