Yesterday while driving home after work I spotted a large doe with 4 fawns. I was able to snap a quick pic of the fawns as the doe went into the woods & soon took the fawns with her. I have seen them with 3 fawns before but never 4 (they all seemed to be average in size). Is this unusual or do you think its possible she might have "adopted" one? Sorry for the blurry pic but it was the best I could get in a hurry.

I think it's more likely there is or was another doe.
Quads?  I would think that is exceedingly rare.  Too hard on mom to nurse four.
Another doe may have been in the woods nearby or possibly killed and the other two fawns began to hang out with this doe.
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

Deer are SOOOOO thick around here. I could see this, imo. I never seen so many deer in my life. They are gettin so thick, we need more deer seasons. Im serious. Not sure if deer hunters did not get to hunter last season or they did not kill any deer. Not sure.

We had this very same thing a few years back. We saw the doe with 4 fawns several times. I asked our local biologist if perhaps she had "adopted" an extra fawn or 2.
He said they were probably all hers as it was highly unlikely she would adopt

A few years ago my wife and I was taking a ride through Pipe Stem State Park, which is just a few miles from our home. We watched a doe with 5 fawns for over an hour. All 5 at some time or another sucked milk from her. I told my wife I have never seen or heard of anything like that before. I have never seen anything like that sence. I ask a biologist friend if she adopted one or two or if he thought she had all 5. He told me he thinks that she had all 5 but would not rule out her picking up one or two of them but he had never heard of a doe doing that. He also said he had never heard of a doe having 5 fawns either. We did not get any pics of them because we did not have our camra. We made that ride several more times that Summer and never seen them again were we could get a pic of them all. We did see her cross the rode one night by the head lights of the truck and she had all 5 with her. I took a pic through the windsheild in the dark but it never took good enough to tell whit the pic was. I think the ones you seen belong to the same doe.

I've seen 3 before and that doe looked worn out..

I personally never seen that many before wish they all had that many fawns
