I've been watching all these birds taken in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky and I'm ready to hit the woods. It's almost worked its way up to me.  :funnyturkey: It's cruel and unusual for Indiana to have such a short season with one bird limit. I hope the youth hunters are having a good day of hunting since it's been rainy here the last 4-5 days. Any other Hoosiers out there ready to hunt?  :fud: :OGani:

My last post didn't go through for some reason so I will try again.

New to the site and am from Indiana so what a better time to post.

I can't wait. My season started today with my youngest son who is 10 shooting his third bird, but first long beard. The bird went 26.12# 11 3/8" beard and 1 3/8 spurs. The bird did is so right. Gobbled and strutted up to the point my boy fired at maybe 15 yards.

My oldest boy who is 11 is going in the a.m.  My daughter who is 7 will go out when the weather betters.

Good luck to you clark and the rest of the Hoosiers.

I'm so ready it's not even funny! Looks like storms the day before opener but hopefully they move out fast. Where are you hunting in IN? I'm midwest...about 40 miles west of Indy.

From south bend and hunt here and the Plymouth area.

My boy ended up shooting a double bearded jake this morning around 11. Was a good weekend.

Looking forward to Wednesday.
