Hi Yall, I am new to the forum but already hooked, cant believe that I have not found out about yall sooner. I will be a regular!

I see a lot of love for the old Star Dot choke tubes for the Mossy's, but little info for the Remington/Star Dot combo. Anybody using this and with what load. My Remm
ington is an 11-87 with 21" barrel.

I got a Rhino choke and have been shooting Nitros with a lot of success, but I am looking for something a little more open and even, but still above 100 @ 40.

Thanks

Also got an old Lohmans choke and a old Mad Max (Made for Mad Calls) choke for this gun. The Lohman looks like a miniature Mad Max. Yall using any of these chokes?

Guess nobody has tried it. I decided to try some Mag Blends that I bought to feel in for my usual Nitros that I shot the last of. Shot really well, 262 in a 10" at 40, so I think this may be my new combo. Nitros were doing a little better but the Mag Blends are easy to get and were on sale at BPS.

The Rem Star Dot choke just didn't shoot well in my 870 with hevi-13 loads.  Now that may have been back when I was trying 6's for I don't remember, but  Ithink I shot a 3" #7 as well.  I sold it.  The Star Dot for the 835 is the way to go if you can find one.  If not, Colonial Arms is supposed to be making the same exact choke as the original Star Dot chokes that they made for Highlander Sports years ago.  The exact same .676 constriction as well is what it says on the website.  I spoke to the owner o nthe phone a year or so agao and got her to admit that they in fact were the choke company who made the original Star Dot chokes.

I have a MAD Max .680 choke for my 835 and it shoots 6's pretty good.  Didn't have much luck with it shooting 7's as good as I wanted.  I still have it.  I also had Lohman Long Shot .680.  It was an ok choke, but nothing to brag about shooting Hevi-13 loads.  I gave it to my buddy.
