I'm sure this has been discussed before but I just want to be sure...  This is the stock extra full 12ga rem choke.  It says "lead only" on it.  Can I safely shoot HTL through it?  I've heard that the "lead only" rem chokes really mean "no steel".  Can anybody confirm this and let me know if I should be okay with H13 and Fed HV loads?  Thanks.

I shoot HTL through a couple of ventilators .655 that are ported and haven't seen any issues.

Yes you can. I have never had very good results with that choke using lead shells.
I think a #5 shot might out pattern #6s with that choke. If Hevi-shot stay with 3-2-6 for that one .

Yes you can shoot htl through that choke.  But I will give you my honest opinion on that choke if I may.  And my opinion may not mean much to some, but that choke was one of the worst shooting chokes that Rem ever made.  Yes it probably can kill a turkey at 40yds.  But the patterns aren't nothing to write home about.  The Rem Super Full will whip that choke.  That extra full turkey choke is .687, and is too open for turkey loads.  Now it may shoot TSS very well.  But that choke should not have ever been called a turkey choke.  Just my 2 cents.  I gave mine away.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I have no expectations with it but since it was given to me I thouhgt I'd try to run some HTL through it to see what it can do.  From the sounds of it, I might not want to waste too many shells.
