Can anyone tell me if the bead on an SBEII barrel is just threaded in? Considering trying an aftermarket sight and wanted to make sure before I boogered up my factory bead.

Yes front bead is threaded in... Just go easy so you don't break it off at the threads

Yep.  It is threaded.

Yep, threaded. I swapped my red factory bead out for one with a longer, green fiber. Threaded the old oe out, and the new one in. For me, the green is easier to see in low light.

I used one of the Tom Knapp long, tape on beads right behind (shooters side) the factory bead. It's been on there for maybe 5 years through rain and normal in and out of cases and through the woods. It's highly visible given the extra long fiber rod...Great sight!

x2 on the Tom Knapp sight. That is one of the brightest ones i've used.Champion Easy Hit,they come in 2.75 and 5" lengths.2.5mm and 3mm diameter beads in either green or red.And that tape that holds them on is STRONG! lol!

I love my Tom Knapp sight also,  really sits flush on the barrel and makes a perfect sight line.

The tunnel makes it essy to know that you are holding your gun level and not canted over.

I have to admit it, I am interested in an aesthetic look and this sight's low profile pleases me.
I could never put a scope, or some clunky sighting device on my gun.

I put mine on with JB Weld.

I use the Tom knapp sight also ... Just have to stack the beads instead of lining them up because of the size

SBE I       3 ½ "   12 ga       Actual bore diameter   .721

Briley turkey choke    .675

Here is  a pic of the pattern  at  40 yrds  and  shooting  #5 thugs from  a  turkey  hunting  position
(sitting at the  bottom of a tree)  using  my Tom Knapp sight.   I  really  like  the  low  profile.
I  took off the  double  back  tape  and  mounted it with JB Weld which kept it  low to
the barrel.   My benelli shoots dead on at  about  60/40

Have to be a skinny turkey head to not get hit with that pattern!   :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:
