Anyone shot these shells and how do they pattern?
Hunt every day as if it were your last.

I've been in recent contact with a spectra rep and spectra themselves. I actually just tested those very shells overthe weekend in ideal conditions with various different chokes. All I have to say is save your money and grab some of federals turkey thugs if you want great lead patterns. Spectra needs to seriously rethink that 22.50 a box if they want to play the lead game and produce turkey shells. They are very kind folks but for the performance the costs is just not worth it.

I've shot the White Lightning shells through a number of different guns and chokes for almost a year now. I was fortunate enough to shoot some of the developmental loads as well as production shells. A number of different shooters also shot them last fall at the Southern Illinois Classic still target shoot.

The shell has 1 5/8 oz. of #6 shot in a roll crimped shell that looks very much like the Old White Hevi-Shot shell and for good reason, they are loaded by Jay Menefee who loaded the OW shells. That 1 5/8 oz. recipe is also how the first Hevi-Shot shells were loaded. They have some very hard plated shot.

We've seen excellent patterns with even coverage over 10" at 40 yards.

It's also a pretty soft shooting shell for a turkey load.

Thanks,
Clark

Soft shooting shell. Very, very even pattern. I didn't spend a lot of time with various chokes, etc chasing numbers but what I saw impressed me. The evenness of the pattern was unparalleled in comparison to other lead loads I have shot. The numbers inside the 10 at 40 were only around 100-110 but I was not choking the pattern down to increase those numbers and spent zero time adjusting. Barrel was dirty, etc. Price point high for lead but in my opinion it is a high quality shell. Others may disagree. Just my two cents.

3" 870 Shell Shucker

If the Thugs hadn't come out this year, I bet the White Lightning shells would have sold a little better.

Not downing them.  I wish I had about 5 of them to pattern.
