"With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation" (Psalm 91:16).

We live in the midst of a culture that applauds youth and beauty, but the over-60 crowd (I'm one of them!), is a fast growing demographic -maybe the fastest growing demographic.

Christ's church understands the importance of age, maturity, and wisdom, and it stands to salute those who have modeled the life of Christ before our eyes.  God told Moses to admonish the people, "Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and reverence your God.  I am the Lord"  (Lev. 19:32).   Whoever gives honor to our elderly gives honor to God.

Unlike our culture, the Bible honors advanced age.  God says that long life is a blessing from Him.  The patriarchs died "old...and full of years" (Gen 25:8).  Kind David entered his eternal rest "at a good old age, having enjoyed long life" (1 Chron. 29:28).

More precious than the blessing of a long earthly life is the promise of eternal life in Jesus.  All who call on the Lord, both young and old, have the promise of God's salvation in Christ, through faith alone.

While we do our best to remain healthy and labor for God's glory in this life, this life is temporary.  By faith, hold fast to eternal life and it's eternal blessings secured for you in Jesus Christ.   Never let go!

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.(John 10:10)

Thanks Dale!!

It is so easy to get focused on the trivial things, rather than focusing on our eternal home with Jesus!!
