Pot Call Surfaces

Ok, I'm pleading total ignorance here and going to ask for some explanations on pot calls.
Glass, slate, aluminum, copper. I can understand that each surface material will give a different type of sound but would someone be so kind as to break them down for a total noob. Any help is much appreciated.

Slate will be a more mellow sound as a norm,  glass will normally be higher pitched and a sharper sounding surface,  aluminum will be usually sharp and raspy,  copper has a unique sound that is raspy and maybe a little more finicky to play.  Ceramic is normally a sound between slate an glass.  Then there is what wood you want surface in,  that makes a difference in how it sounds.  I feel a great striker is one of the most important tools in making your pot call sing.  There are so many combos but in my opinion good ol cherry or walnut make great sounding pots in many surfaces.  Scoot
