me too
I have always shot #5's in any shell that I try
if I can get 100-120 5's in a tight group,that's a hunting load
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

3" 870 Shell Shucker

#5's have awesome energy.  They can reach out there and touch something.  Very few small game animals can walk away from a swarm of #5's.  #6's fill out a 20" pattern better IMO, but I love #5's too.

My Winny 1300 actually throws a better (more even) pattern with the #5's through a .660 Kick's and .660 IC than the #6's.  I haven't actually counted the 10 ring yet but the #5 patterns just look more uniform.

Ok I bought the thug #5's. going to test 3 shells Thursday. 3-2-5 old fed's and 3-1 7/8-5 thugs through a undertaker choke i already own and 3-1 5/8-7 Fed HWT with a Turlock choke I just purchased. If the lead is close the Trulock choke will be sent back. It's so hard to find the Fed HWT's and there expensive and only going to go up in price from what I hear. I realize its not really a fair comparison with 7 HTL vs. 5 lead that's why I wanted #6 to be a little closer but as mentioned above if I can get 110+ with 5's at $1 a shell I will be thrilled! Shooting old bottom land camo 11-87 20" barrel 3 inch.

checked Wal-Mart tonight and no luck.  I am going to check one more wal-mart tomorrow, and hopefully they will have some 3.5 5s.
