I had to share this with you guys!! Two of my good buddies were supposed to go to KY and fish yesterday with guide Chris Haley, they got about half way there early in the morning and he called them and said they got to much rain and it blew the rivers out, so they had to turn around and come home. They got plan B togethere and loaded the boat up and headed to the mighty Elk.  They got the boat in the water and Brandon made his first cast of the day with a 10 inch tube and fish came up and slammed it, he set the hook and it got off.  Nathan then casted out a jerk bait and it came back and hit his bait but missed hooks.  2 Casts later it came back and nailed the tube again, good hookset, fight, and in the net.  A monster of a river fish and on the 4th cast of the trip!!! Nathan had my GoPro camera and this all happened so fast he hadnt even put it on his head and turned it on yet.  It was the only fish of the day but man what a beauty, just look at the alligator head on that thing!!! She sure must have been hungry!!

Here is a short video clip of the release and some cool underwater footage of her (youtube converted my file and downgraded quality real bad, you should see it in full HD, pretty cool!! Im working on getting a full HD file up, but this will do for now.)

Also i got to looking at that fish last night and thought it looked really familiar.  I got to looking through some pics and found out where i had seen her before.  Im pretty sure this was the same fish Eric was so friendly with and caught so many times in his career, his legacy lives on through this fish!!! If it is, she grew half an inch in a years time, great healthy fish!! Great reminder of Eric and of how catch and release can be so effective!! Here is a pic of the two fish, and of our good friend Eric with one of his many beautiful fish, RIP, Fish on brother!!
