We had a guy here defend his house last week with a shotgun. Woke up at 4 am to breaking glass and 2 people trying to enter his house. Fired one shotgun round wounding one intruder and held the other at gunpoint until deputies arived.

There is a sad thing here. I hate to say this but having the fact that she did not kill this intruder she and her family will probably face a law suit.

The story actually did make Good Morning America this AM.  They said the perpetrator was on oxygen, as he was currently unable to breathe on his own.  The amazing george stephanopolous (SP, but who cares?) said called the handgun a ".36 caliber".  Seriously!
