I e been doing quite a bit of research in this as well, but for my ar. What I'm down to is either the Vortex Strikefire or the primary arms m4 or m3. These both have got great reviews. People are calling the vortex a $150 aimpoint. The primary arms are also getting great reviews and are less than $100.

I've personally handled the strikefire and was impressed.

Well I just bought a vortex strikefire. I will follow up with my impressions when I get it.

Let us know how it does. I've used the fastfire ll the past couple of years and have no complaints. I looked thru a aimpoint years ago but didn't care for it. But that's been a long time and everything I've read lately backs up what gslam said

So far so good on the strikefire! Easy to dial in and plenty bright. The one I have is the red/green dot model. I've heard the red dot only is even brighter but I'm plenty satisfied so far. I've read that vortex has excellent customer service so if it turns out I need a brighter one I'll call them up.

Also I tried it with the included 2x magnifier and it was pretty darn clear. That's what I'm impressed with regarding vortex. It seems like most red dots on the cheaper side have a tinted glass that makes it harder to see your target. The strikefire is very clear!

Here's a few pics. I plan on putting this same sight or the vortex spark on my turkey shotgun when I get it here in a few months.

Let us know how it holds zero with the shotgun.

Will do. They have a great reputation so I don't see any problems popping up. In fact I watched a video of a guy using the spark red dot on his rifle and tossed or dropped it on the ground three times from chest height and it was still hitting right where it should.

Another vote for the Burris ff3. I have one and my fiancée has a truglo. I have a feeling in gonna have to buy another Burris before April..lol.. Not knocking the tru glo.. It's never failed us but when you look through it and then the Burris it's like night and day. Just my 2 cents.
