Hard to beat a Savage rifle.  I have had mine for going on 20 years.  I wish mine had the accutrigger, but you will not be disappointed with the way it will shoot.  For what it's worth, my Savage LOVES the remington Cor-lokt bullets.

Nice gun, 30-06 gophers to grizzlies, it will kill them all. Core Lokts shoot well in mine too, and there cheap!!!

I've always wanted a Rem 700, but my 270 Savage shoots great groups at 300' and I bought my wife a 243, syn and accu trigger and have no regrets. Thinking about staying with savage on all future purchases.

I have the same gun (pre accu-trigger), but it doesn't care for the Core-Lokt's.  It prefers the plain-jane Federal Power-Shok 150's.  BTW, ammo companies can't spell.
