Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. (1 John 5:1)

Some people who claim to be Christians actually will say, "You know, I love the Lord. I just don't love the church." Sorry, but that is impossible, because 1 John 5:1 says, "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too."

The church is the bride of Christ. We belong to Him, and He loves us. In fact, the apostle Paul used that analogy in Ephesians 5 when he wrote, "For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word" (verses 25–26). It is popular today to criticize the church. But understand this: When you insult the church, you are speaking critically of someone whom Jesus loves.

Dear Lord, thank you so much for the blessings in my life everyday. Thank you Lord for being a forgiving God and the second chances that You have given me through my life. In Jesus name I pray (Amen)

Have a great week,
Jody
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.(John 10:10)

Thank you to you guys who do the daily devotionals. Your time and effort are appreciated. Yes, our God is God of many chances. Being isolated from other believers gives satan easier access into our minds and bodies. We need the fellowship of other believers. I have wandered away many times and know the danger. Let us be drawn closer to our Redeemer as we realize this earth is not our home ! I personally believe that many that are saved and are alive today ,will not taste death but will rise to meet the LORD in the air(I Thess 4:15-17). Then we will truly be home!

Thank you, Jody.  Too often people look at the imperfect saints (us) in a congregation and don't like what they see.  Instead, they need to look at the perfect Word of God which the church proclaims and teaches.

Great message.   :jesus-cross:
