I am wanting to try Hevi 7s this offseason . I was wondering which tube and size you guys have had luck with . I am shooting a Benelli SBE2 with a 24 inch barrel . Thanks

R AJ

Not to be smart but what gauge are you speaking of?

obro

Sorry I left that out . 12

I have the same gun and have the best luck with a Final Strut choke from Rob Roberts. I talked with Rob and he sent me a .655 .660 .665 .670 all at the same time to shoot and compare side by side. I settled on the .665 . The SBEII is a finicky gun what works for one might not for an identical gun. I would also talk to sum toy he's on here all the time and he will work with you and exchange choke's till you hit the right combo for your gun.

650 to 660 in that gun will give you numbers if you looking for a open pattern to have some room put 670.    Now you have a few chokes that work in it.  SumToy, Hevi Shot and IC.   I have seen a kicks do ok in them.

That gun will do go with HV-13 or Winchester Ex-Range.  Number come with HV but the Win ER has more punch I think.  I would love to see Win come out with a 7 and bump payload up to the HV loads.  You can get the ER and they are not $$$$$$$

The Hevi-13 shells with #7 shot are an excellent product, very consistent performers and have taken a lot of turkeys since they were introduced. I've had success with several different chokes with the "Crio" barrels in the Benellis, like your SBEII.

The Hevi-13 Turkey Choke, the Wright's, JEB's, the SSX and Pure Gold. They all work quite well even though they each have different internal geometry. Each designer has his own idea of what is best and in those chokes, it works. Exit diameters as tight as .643 and as open as .660-.665 will work, again all depending upon the design of the choke tube.

I have found that one of the most important factors with Benelli shotguns is finding out whether your gun likes to be "squeaky" clean or a bit dirty. It can make a big difference in the quality of the patterns. They will shoot regardless but some of mine pattern quite differently from others, with the number of shots down the bore.

I like to start with a deep cleaned barrel and shoot until patterns degrade. That will tell the tale of what your gun likes, if you really want to see what's best.

You have a great gun that should give you years of reliable service and combined with the H-13 shells it will certainly do the job.

Thanks,
Clark
