Hello, i have a question about an 11-87 i recently acquired it is the old school with bottomland camo ans short barrel mfg in 96 or 98. This gun is in nice shape and apon dissasembling it for a thorough cleaning before i fired it i fount some marking on the rear receiver right above where the link goes into the action spring tube it apears the bolt has made contact with this at some point in time i also pulled out the action spring and it only measures 14 inches, i believe this should be 15 inches new. I have since ordered a new one along with a new breech bolt buffer (its not in terrible shape but i figured i would go ahead and replace it while im this far) my question is could this spring being weak/short have caused the marking on the reciever as it does not have enough tension to absorb the recoil sufficiently? Also there is a recess in the middle of the rear reciever directly above the recoil spring tube, is this only to give the fireing pin ample room for rearward movement or should there be something in the recess? I posted this question in another catagory by accident (my mistake) but i am unable to delete it myself, i apologise for my oversite. Thanks for your time.
