I've had both and after buying one of Wendell's....I sold the woodhaven.

On the other hand, I do love woodhaven mouth calls.

Lights Out for me.

Main starter is slate over glass, with any hardwood.  I also have maybe 8-10 different Lights Out strikers, mostly the laminated ones.

Aluminum is a bit louder, I've got several of those too.

Favorite wood?  I like harder woods like; laminates, padauk, bubinga, etc.

Persimmon dyed green is one of my favorites too...

Just tell him what you want, and he generally gets it right!

Get a Lights Out
        Then get one lit up
Then Shoot em' in the face.

See, it will be so simple.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

I have plenty of Woodhaven box calls and pots, last year I got my first Lights Out and would get another one before I would get another Woodhaven.
Lights Out hands down, I hope to add a few more in the future!

I have a lights out aluminum call with the yellowheart pot and I REALLY like it.  When I ordered it I asked Wendell if he had any suggestions on additional strikers to give it a "different" sound and he recommended the persimmon striker.  So I ordered the call with the standard laminate striker and the persimmon striker.  I really like both combinations.  Good luck with your order.
