Would like some input.

I have several slate calls and had great sucess with them, but would like to add a new call to the arsenal.
I'm thinking of either a Hooks Bronze glass or aluminum pot call.
I've never tried either surface. Any suggestions on which might be easier or provide the biggest difference from slate. Or just in general which you prefer.

Thanks for any input.

You ought to go with bronzed glass, I have made many of both and the glass seems to be the more realistic sounding call over the aluminum. I make two types glass/glass or glass/slate in a dual pot call. Conditioning the bronzed glass is easier to maintain over the aluminum too, or in my opinion any how. pappy

What's the soundboard on the Hooks?

I've got the Hooks aluminum and its a fantastic turkey call.. loud, raspy back end with sharp clucks and easy purrs

with that said the bronzed glass is on the wish list, only reason I didnt buy that first was I have the Twisted Sister from Halloran

Cant go wrong with either... do yourself a favor too and pick up a hooks gobbler stix in yellowheart with it if you can and the paduak one is also one of my favorites too!

I would go with the glass. I have an aluminum call that sounds great in the afternoons but for some reason it doesnt sound worth anything in the mornning. I am sure I am doing something wrong. Probably the wrong striker or something. Not sure. I am sure it has something to do with the humidity. Not sure. I have calle dtruck loads of turkeys with a slate before i ever heard of an Aluminum, so i will just stick with it and a glass.
