Justin,
I hunt in the South Eastern part of the state also..... What county are you in?

Any updates on the gobbling? The birds I've been scouting are not too active but will most likely bust loose real soon. I saw some people say hens aer nesting... What part of the state are they nesting in already?

I'm in surry county, how about yourself? I haven't been out listening for them yet going to give that A try this weekend. I have been ridding and looking though and best I can tell they just started busting up into their spring groups. 2 weeks ago I was seeing large number groups gobblers still running with jakes. Starting last week the jakes have separated. Hopefully I will have a good gobble report after this weekend.

I hope your right sippy cup. I hunt some in northern VA. They are gobblin alot on the roost but get quiet once they are on the ground. Still bunched up several old gobblers and hens together in the fields.
Go early, stay late, be patient and sit still.

They will be ready to die come the opener.  In some areas, they were call ready weeks ago.

I've heard as many as 15 on a morning already and as few as 1 or 2.  I've also heard them burning it down through mid-morning.

Several spots I hunt have shown strong indications of flock separation for weeks. Others are still showing larger congregations of gobblers.
