The gobblers have been fired up for the first week of the season. Couldn't ask for a better start to a season. Between myself and three hunting buddies, 6 gobblers died this week. 5 of them good solid 3 year olds and one a jake (case of mistaken identity on that one). Had a great week and wish everybody good luck on their hunts. One more bird and I'll be tagged out, then it will be time to unload the benelli and start calling for friends and family. Got to love springtime i :funnyturkey:n the south

That ol' tom's already dead. He just don't know it yet .... The hard part is convincing him.

Are you REALLY working that gobbler, or is HE working YOU?

I have been calling.  In a week I called in my buddies first and 2 for my dad.  All captured on a video

In what part of GA were you hunting?

I was hunting ridge and hollar country in Gilmer Co. this past weekend and it was tough.  The property was new to me and I did not have a chance to roost any, I was rained out Saturday evening.  There was very little gobbling, and it ceased when they came off the roost.  I walked up on birds yesterday after calling a minute before.  It was like that for me in middle GA last weekend.

A friend in S.E. GA told me he had some birds gobbling well in the trees and well after fly-down.
