Bad 3" Federal Mag-Shok Heavyweight #7's

I just recieved a order from Graf and Sons for 3" Federal Mag-Shok #7's (Lot # 20UX742 ).To my disapointment Just about one shell in every box had a bad crimp and one was leaking buffer.I emailed Federal and the next day got a response.They request pictures so i sent them and asked for a phone call.It only took an hour and Trevor from Federal called and said they will be replaced.When i told him how upset i was he understood and said this is not normal, but was honest and said it does happen. He will have a call tag sent out for UPS to pick up the shells.Trevor also said the replacements will be going out the door no later than next Monday. Federal stepped up with excellent customer service. Lee :icon_thumright:

There are have been some post from some of us that the 10 ring pellet coundt has gone down this year on the federals. Mine dont look like that though. Glad they stepped up.

Not poor QC.  This stuff happens.  It has happened to me after loading my own shells.  I take a lot of time crimping my loads and leave the press down for 15 mins before moving the shell, then leave the shell sit for several days before putting it in the box.  Then I seal with Alex Plus.  I had one open completely this past year, but 9 others that didn't.  That is 10%, but it happens.  These are new hulls and are stiff.

I have two boxes from natchezs that look worse than those just came 3.5 6 shot look even worse.  Getting the run around!  From both parties!

No email just called and called and called.  I pay ship back wait for testing etc etc etc time is of no value I guess...seems crazy they wont hold a credit card number or bill you for good ones be sent out while mine are on way.

The experience i had was all good.Trevor at ATK said it is obvious the crimps opened up, at first he told me to send UPS and would reimburse me. I said i should not have to be out any money even for a short time, so he said he will send a call tag and have UPS come pick them up.At first Trevor was going to send the replacement shells after they received mine and said total turn around time would be about 3 weeks. I told him that gives me very little time to experiment before the season opens.He said he would have the replacements out the door no later than Monday 3-5-12. Lee
