My wife is a very outdoorsy type of gal.  She has been wanting a bow for a while now.  So today we got our tax refund.  Off to the stores we go.  First was a trip to the tire store to put new All Terrain tires on "her" truck.  $866 later we head to the hunting store.  She wants a bow, had it all picked out.  We leave $550 later with a Diamond Razors Edge (pink real tree AP camo) 6 Victory Pink Breast cancer awareness arrows, accessories, and a case.  We left there and made a quick stop at another store for her some new sunglasses, then headed to the local Shooting range.  We drug out the bale target, 3D deer and Turkey targets.  We set em out at 20 yds.  After a few rounds she was placing em pretty darn good.  She could hit the deer and turkey good to.  She even almost had a robin hood.  She has never had a bow, just shot in school and shot her sisters around xmas.  While she was letting her arm rest, I broke out the .22 pistol and I was doing excellent at 20 yds.  I then took out the .22 rifle and let the wife (who has never shot any kind of gun) have a try.  I put the empty gun on the sand bag and tild her to look through the scope.  Then I loaded it and told her where the safety was and how to use the safety.  I showed her ehow to rack a round but she left it to me each time I reloaded.  She never missed the target.  She was having a blast.  She didnt want to leave.  On the way home she told me that that was now her .22.  She wants to go after turkeys with her bow now.  She also wants to go after pigs with a .22, but I told her that next year I may get her a .223 or .224.  Today was one heck of a good day.

That's awesome man.  Great to have your woman interested in the outdoors!! I took the wife scouting turkeys last year.  She couldn't believe they flew up in trees at night.  She assumed they slept on the ground.  She wants to come turkey hunting with me this year and I'm excited about it!

Turkeys are as smart as hunters make em and public land offers more classes.

Sorry to read about her sisters though. I hear not all sisters get along.
