Has anyone tried out the new Vid-Camera from GoPro. I have seen them advertised and looked at video on you tube. I haven't been able to find a bad comment yet about them. They do limit you in regards to zoom. But...it looks like this thing has a port for an external microphone, shoots in 1080, you can choose from 30, 60, or 90 frames per second, takes stills, and is waterproof to like almost 180ft. It also comes with a boat load of ways to attach it to your gun, helmet, headlamp style, and so on.

If anyone has used this little camera please let me know!

Thanks

Its a great little camera and shoots very clear video but as far as ataching it to your gun to capture a kill shot, its not that great unless the turkey is about 10 or 15 yards or less. I love mine but pretty much use it for extras in a video such as ataching to my gun facing back at myself and getting the kill shot on my video camera with a zoom. It films good underwater also.I took it on a roller coaster a couple of weeks ago and that was pretty cool. ;D ;D

I have one and they are great little cameras. I use my gopro on the boat while fishing. Can use it above water and below.

offshore

we also use the go pro offshore fishing.  mount it to a gaff, t-top, dash while running, etc.  makes some pretty cool video's.  im always amazed for how small it is, what great shots it produces

I have one, and it takes great video. But if you want it for self filming, start looking for another camera.
I had a gobbler in last year at 27 yds, on the video he looked like he was 170 yds away.
Don't gobble at me...

They are incredible tools but certainly best used for a distance of up to about 20 feet if there is a subject in the shot.  If its a wide landscape shot they do fine even over distance.

Sooo...I ended up getting a Kodak Playsport ZX-5. It has a 4X zoom feature and runs HD in 1080p. The Zi-8 has the option for an external mic. but I don't think I realy need all that at this point. So Far happy with the camera. I think I have to return the Remote. I can't get the zoom feature to operate from the remote. Everything else is great though.

Can't wait to Hunt.

PS...paired up with the Flex Cam cell phone camera mount I think this combo will capture some good footage.
