Went to hunt the Cache River area south of Brinkley with two old hunting partners on the 13th and 14th - first time ever hunting in AR and had a terrific time. Now for a rabbit hunt or two in February and it will be time to get ready for turkey season.

"I admire a good turkey hunter chiefly because such a man displays qualities that we usually associate with pioneer America-patience, enthusiasm, woodcraft, game sense, and a quiet hardihood undaunted by rain, by cold, by long tough miles, by disappointment."
Archibald Rutledge

Glad you got to come over to AR. The Cache has been LOADED this year. A few weeks back there was a few days in there we were sorting green heads looking for bands or really big bulls. Other areas have been so so, but around Brinkley has been hot. Nice pic!

Nice Ducks! Some friends and I went up to the Cache River WMA this year. There were tons of duck flying all morning. We just couldn't get them to land in our hole. Not only that, we ended up with a hole in the boat first thing. Eventually we were able to plug the hole with a foam earplug that I had. Still a fun morning!

Glad you had a good hunt. It was slow up here in Illinois.
