I was a devoted Hevi-shot user when they first came out . Even though it felt like you were throwing dollar bills at the targets ! Then I started getting terrible patterns so I switched to a new brand . I for one don't want to risk a crippling shot or a miss on Batch #s . Every shooter should be able to pick up ANY box from their favorite manufacturer and get consistent results EVERY time . I now shoot Winchester Extended Range and they are incredible . After a gobbler does the Winchester backflip, they usually never move again . Not taking chances that I might get lucky and buy a box of Hevi's that were loaded right . No thanks !

I got my order in a few days ago . Both boxes lot  300514 . Wished I ordered more if these are known to be that good !

Yeah that is pretty steep for a shell . Up north here though  50 bucks in shells will last me probably 5 seasons . If I hadn't seen the hoopla on lot numbers here I wouldn't have even checked them . Would  have just patterned them like any other shell I try .

No offense to you Big Dale or anyone affiliated with Hevi-Shot, but to me it is a Sad Statement when one has to rely on certain lot numbers or "batches" if you will, to insure optimal performance from a given load. With the premium price that are charged for these shells by the manufacturer, uniform performance from lot to lot is the least hunters should expect for there hard earned dollars. Just think if everytime you cruised down the Interstate at 70 mph, and you bought four new Michelins you had to "Hope" they came from a "Good Lot Number"!
