A buddy of mine has an older Remington 1100 and just got a new threaded barrell for it to replace the fixed barrell. His 1100 will shoot 3" shells. What Choke and Shells would yall recommend for this set up? Anybody have any experience with 1100's as turkey guns?

I have one 1100 that's a 3" gun. I don't really use it for turkey hunting however but in those Remington barrels there are several chokes that work very well.

The Wright's #3, SSX, Pure Gold and Hevi-13 turkey chokes, while very different in construction, all do very well. I'd recommend the 3" Hevi-13 "Bronze" shells with 2 oz. of either #6 or #7 shot.

Thanks,
Clark

I have a 3" magnum  1100 with a 30" fixed full choke, and it really loves the Federal FC shells
it's not the harvest,it's the chase

put you a 650 to 660 in it and let it become a turkey killing machine.
