I've always said you need to take advantage of every chance as a turkey bowhunter. Two years ago my turkey hunting buddy was diagnosed with cancer that got into his bone. After chemo that winter we still got him out to turkey hunt that spring.Well the "c" word is back.He has had two treatments already but still wanted to go to KS. for some winter turkey hunting.I took him to my favorite fall walk-in fri and by 4:00 p.m. he had 40 birds running into his decoy/calling set-up.Two shots latter he still had 4 tags in his pocket. That stings.I roosted 30 plus that night.Well the a.m. was a bust but that afternoon I had 1 down and 4 shots latter Rich still had 4 tags in his pocket. We gave it a shot Sun a.m. but no go. We did here some gobbling that morning and we had a great time. That was also his first trip to KS.I'm sure we will be back.
When I turkey hunt I use a DSD decoy

Kudos to you for your efforts to take your friend hunting.  Although he didn't take a bird, no doubt memories were made and chances are his life is richer for having friends like you.

I remember several years back after having chemo and radiation, my head was slick as an onion when my buddy made the effort to get me out for my first successful deer season.  I will never forget what he did for me.  He likely doesn't think it was much of a sacrifice, but it meant the world to me.
Lights Out custom calls - what they're dying to hear!

The world needs more of this, very nice thing you did and he will remember and cherish the whole experience.

Fellas, I for sure am looking forward to a day when we won't hear the "C" word any more. My heroes are those that have looked that beast in the face and have overcome it.

It is great to know that there are still good folks out there that will look after their friends.

Great testimony to true character :jesus-cross:
