My employer prohibits weapons in our vehicles on company property, and conducts random searches daily.

I live in a CC state, but most of the time a permit still wouldn't allow me to leave home armed because I have to park at work, so I can't justify the expense of the permit.

In Wi., the empolyer can ban the gun from the job, but not from the parking lot, from what I understand.

Check with the law enforcement agency that issues your CCP.  12 states have passed laws that prohibit employers from prohibiting weapons in your vehicle on company property.  Your state may be one of them.  The NRA is lobbying to get a federal law passed prohibiting all companies nationwide from doing that.

My company prohibits firearms also, but I'm by myself in too many places with little or no light or help nearby.  Screw them.  My safety is more important than my job.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands, love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper; his hands remember the rifle.

From what I understand -In Florida its Legal to carry a firearm in your car in the parking lot of your employment provided you are have a CCP -

Not sure if this pertains to some parking lots of institutions like government buildings like courthouses and schools - there are special laws involving those places

My perception is that violent crimes like carjackings and the like are near suicidal in this state , near everybody has a gun nowadays , and if they don't the guy 2 cars behind you does and is more than willing to "fix you up" if a crackhead gets out of line
