Not as colorful or "off"-colorful as some of the nicknames listed so far.

Two of my good friends.

Huckleberry - Has hunted almost everywhere and gotten more species than anyone else I know.

Buckee - Kills one or two really nice bucks every year.

Some of my buddies call my wife "The Bearpaw" after she brought up a huge crappie while ice fishing that shook her hook and tried to escape back down the hole.
Well, she's only like 5'2", but she let out what can best be described as an ear shattering, giant cavewoman grizzly bear growl as she dove down on the ice and stuck her whole arm down the hole.  When she came back up soaking wet with that monster fish locked in a finger nail death grip somebody yelled out the THE BEARPAW!!! We laughed so long and freaking hard that you just knew it was the birth of a truly great and everlasting nickname.
