Team mates,

I am so very proud of the caliber of sportsmen who call The Roaring 20's their team. We posted 4 gobblers with scores over 70 and a solid bank of 60 point birds. Incredible skills were shown by several of our team mates who hunted out of state on unknown public lands but still connected with the big birds. Bradley (BBR12) suffered a broken foot just days before the opening of the Mississippi season and yet it could not stop him from limping into the woods and calling up and shooting two fine birds including one of our 70 point gobblers. Our brothers in the southern tier got this tank running full speed and as the season progressed the northern hunters were finally able to slip out into the blue gray dawn and add to our take. Once the season kicked in, Paintbrush posted a giant that helped boost us that much closer. On a personal note, I had cataract surgery on one eye just after my first license week. I needed to take advantage of the last season and the gobbler that I shot then was while looking through a blurry starburst in the red dot sight.

When I first started this team years ago, people were just starting to consider the lethal possibilities of the 20 gauge shotgun for hunting turkeys. This team represents forward thinking men, diligent in their research and testing proven out at the shooting range, and an unwavering respect for this grand bodacious game bird.

To my team mates, you have earned my utmost respect and I am proud to be called your friend and captain.

Cheers, my brothers  ;D

Thanks Norm. Definitely a ream effort. But I have to admit, those southern boys do shoot some biiig turkeys, lol. My goal is to get over 60, which is above average around here. I registered my best scoring bird in 5 years and it almost didnt get counted, lol. Great season guys. The competition is right on our heels. We need to stay sharp. Thanks for a great season and good luck in the fall. Z

We had three more 70+ birds that I know of......ol Hookedspur has an uncanny ability to kill birds with 1.5" or better spurs.

Once again congrats to everyone it takes a team effort to win this type of contest.
Looking forward to next year.

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this team, it is a lot of fun for sure.

Thanks for all you do Norm to keep this bunch of turkey killers on the up and up. I for one really appreciate all you do for us! I kept checking in daily to see how my southern teammates were doing since their seasons open up so much earlier then us up here in the northern states, and they did quite well obviously. Looking forward to next year already to get after it once again with this bunch!

Well, that's a wrap on another magnificent year. Well played all who participated. The goal was to be safe, have fun and kill big gobblers and I believe that all three goals were accomplished.

I hope that you guys will have a great productive year and let's all meet back here in February and do this again.

Cheers  ;D
