Had a good hunt this morning. Gobbled in the trees, 4 I think. Flew down and zipped up as usual. My buddy was at the other end of the property. I heard gobbling all over him and no kaboom. I waited till it quieted down and called, GOBBLE 125 yards out. I waited a minute and called again, GOBBLE. He is just over the hill. I see his white cap crest the hill. Very cautiously he came closer to my decoys and he would zigzag back, only gaining inches at a time. It took him 15 minutes to go the last 75 yards to put him in range. Something spooked the wood ducks in the heath to my left and he got antsy. I just ranged him, 38 yards. Dot on wattles, BOOM. Done flopping by the time I got there. First bird I ever shot out of the back of a 96 F150 truck blind, lol. Good day with my oldest friend. Z
