KILLFLASH lens cover on red dots??

anyone have any experience with the KILLFLASH lens covers on red dot sights?  I see they're available with the full grid and with a hole in the center. asking because some of these dots have a pretty bright lens facing the target.

Seems like overkill for a turkey. I use one on my ranch carbine, but it's mainly to avoid being picked up in a situation that someone else is interested in shooting at me. Scope glare from the sun or flashlights at night. It wouldn't hurt, but I don't think you'd get much benefit when sitting under a shady tree in the woods. I use a primary arms full grid one on a 3x prism scope, and you really don't notice the grid when looking through.

I don't have a Killflash.  But I don't need one.  I use the Burris 135 tube sights from the "old days".  They come with a screw-in sunshade extension.  I am COMPLETELY convinced they work and are necessary.

5 or so years ago I had 2 different birds, in as many days, queer on me for ZERO logical reason other than (due to the conditions and circumstances) that front iridium lens was throbbing red.

I screwed in the shade tube and never another issue.  I would definitely get something to kill objective lens glare if my sight did not already have it.

The good Lord ain't made a gobbler I can't kill.  I just gotta be there at the right time.....  on the day he wants to die.

100% agreed. I've been rock solid as well before and had it happen.

I used to have an Aimpoimt 9000 on my turkey rig and I can remember holding my hand over the front of it right up until the shot. Not sure it mattered though. It had a screw on shade but when I used it it hampered being able to see through the scope somewhat.

I had a bird bust me immediately after topping a ridge last year, luckily I heard him walking and was pointing right where he popped up, I was and killed him before he was gone!

The sun had hit me after the 20 minutes I was in that spot so it was a problem!

Had a similar situation the other day and put my hand over the sight, but the bird showed up after I was back in the shade!

FINALLY found someone that makes a killflash for the vortex venom. Look up seller lupus9labs on eBay. I got both versions, but will be using the one without the open center.

I just buy some black panty hose, cut a proper square of the material and affix it to the sight with a rubber band.  But then, I have a fetish for panty hose.

I did a test with a mesh face mask, worked fine, no panty hose required
