My son tagged #2 yesterday morning on a public land youth hunt. He was done at 6:25. Two gobblers and a hen came in pretty quick. He killed early enough to make his soccer game we planned to skip.
That afternoon we tried some private land with only hens giving us attention.
This morning I hit some public land and filled my tag just before 10. Two gobblers were hammering on it with a couple hens but wouldn't leave them. Another bird was gobbling past them but I didn't think much of it. After about 45 mins I could tell they were slowly easing off. I guess when they put enough distance between us the third gobbler decided to check me out. Short public land season this year. Now back to private to find an upgrade.
