I posted something about me moving to texas about a month ago. I cant find the orginial thread. So i thought i would start another one.

Does anyone know of any good public land to turkey hunt on or deer hunt on here in texas

There Aint non Lived in the Rio Grande Valley for 25 years,Invite or lease, Ouch on the billfold. :'( :'(

Welcome to Texas!  Sorry, not much public turkey land in this state but check around for National Forests in your area.  National Forests and a few WMA's are all you'll find.  You can put in for a draw hunt on some public WMA's.  Draw only and some good hunting to be had on some. 
Check out the TPWD website for info.

Well nctrkyhntr your in luck you happen to live less than 100 miles for some world class rio hunting on public land. I live in Carrollton and work in Plano. If you want more info pm me and I will gladly share it with you. :)
