I just got off the federal crop insuranc subsidy site and seen the payout that this farmer has received in the last 15 years. He is the highest paid farmer for crop insurance in the state. Since 1995 to 2010 the Federal gov't has paid him 725,846.65 , that avgs out to 48,390 a year in crop insurance pay out. You mean to tell me those deer are eating that much or that he needs to shoot them to save his livlyhood. Bull$&$t!!!! He is making all the money back for crops lost plus he doesnt have to pay gas for the equipment, gas for his dryers and money to the farmhands to harvest his crops. Its needless killing. Wish I would have never looked at those stats. Just Pi^&ed me off more!!!!!  :angry9::TrainWreck1: :angry9:

That is a sad thing, especially with all the talk of starving people.
Maybe keep talking to him and explain that the price of a big deer is worth more then his crop.
yes it is and there are ways to give the meat to the needy, food banks ect.i work at a meat plant and there is a sign up every deer season on who to contact about giving the meat to.i confronted a farmer awhile back that i knew that brought a pickup load heaping full of deer to have cut.i told him i respect the idea that he does have alot of crop damage,so i asked him do ya let people hunt your land to help eliminate some of the problem and he said no f way.which i respect that,he owns the land and makes a living off it.but the reason he did it was so the people that come from out of state to hunt next to his land did not get the deer, sad in my opinion.ive worked on an uncles and cousins farm when i was in school and ive seen first hand the damage the deer can do to a cornfield.but the reason that guy gave me ticked me off.

Here is the link to the site I found the info on.  I clicked on Pa. Indiana county and the zip code where he lives. It gave me a yearly rundown he was paid for crop damage. He was paid over double  what the 2nd most farmer received.

Well, I got a large garbage bag full of human hair from Fantastic Sams (Hair salon), and two large boxes of mothballs. Gonna put them out sunday. Hopefully it will save some deer. They should start shooting any day now!!   :angry9:

Here are some links for you...

http://www.paqdma.com/

I would contact the QDMA first and let them help and I'm sure they will if the guy is doing it illegally...I would also start getting the names of all the wildlife officers you have spoken with and keep good records of it...a suit against them will likely get them wanting to fix the problem so you go away...you can't give up...

Dude im mad for you as well, I live and hunt in PA and would LOVE to even see deer like he shoots and wastes. IT really gets me that he dumps the bodies and wastes all that meat when there is no reason for that. I understand crop damage whatever But I love to eat venison and work really hard to fill the freezer and seeing all that meat rot is ridiculous
