Looking to get one of his cds is there a cd in 1-5 that you would chose that covers everything.?

Sir-diealot

No, each covers something different. Here Is A link to the website his daughter runs. Go to recordings in order to see what each one covers. https://www.lovettwilliams.com/

By the way they're all well worth listening to I have them all other than the first one that's only available on tape if you can find it and I've learned a lot from them. Sure wish I could have met the man.

To me that sounds like it is more for somebody intending to hunt in the Fall. I think 3 or 5 covered Spring more, give me a moment and I will come back and edit this.

Edit: Okay Real Turkeys III: Spring Calling reveals the turkey's vocabulary during the spring hunting season with explanations about the functions of the calls and examples of young and old, hens and gobblers. A must for spring turkey hunters.

Real Turkeys V: Advanced Calling for Spring Hunting reveals the turkey's vocabulary during the spring with explanations about the functions of the 13 calls useful in spring hunting and the 4 calls that every successful turkey hunter should master. A must for spring turkey hunters.

Also Real Turkeys VI: "Sounds for Turkey Hunting," presents typical examples and some variations of the 13 turkey calls normally used or heard in hunting plus longer recorded passages of turkey waking up on the roost using the tree yelp, the "spring jake yelp" of jakes on the roost yelping in response to gobbling, group calling on the roost by more than 60 turkeys in the flock, sounds of a gobbler scratching in the leaves, drumming and associated sounds of strutting, the "hush" call of the hen to quieten her young, and versions of barred owl hooting. All sounds were recorded in the wild

There are other Spring ones in 4 as well but I would go with 3 or 5 myself for Spring hunting to start then this one.

Real Turkeys IV: "How to Call Turkeys" presents recorded examples of the wild turkey's calls used in hunting. The examples include the lost whistle, kee-kee & kee-kee-run, the unique kee-kee-run of the jake, calling by the hen to silence her brood, assembly yelping of the hen, lost yelping of hens and gobblers, alarm putting, plain clucking, plain yelping of hens in spring and plain, and other calls used and heard in hunting. The instructional narration covers spring hunting as well as fall hunting and answers to the most frequently asked questions about how to call in wild turkeys. This is the most instructional of the recordings in the Real Turkeys series.

#6, "Real Turkeys VI" is the one I would get, no question.  Out of the set, it's the best arranged, most complete and easiest to navigate.  They're all excellent, but some cd's in the series are not well divided into segments that you can find and repeat using the cd player track function.  #6 has a concise track decicated to every useful call including owl hooting, drumming, etc.  There are only two cd's I ever listen to these days and this is one of them.

Glad to hear you got the set. I had a few of them and bout the set last year or the year before and was going to donate the extras to the library, they were not even going to put them out for the public to take out, just sell them in their yearly yard sales. I could do that.

The last two years I've reached out to his daughter to ask when there will be a downloadable version of all his audio to purchase. Each time, she replies saying they are working on it and really close to making it happen. But, apparently, it still hasn't happened. Would happily purchase if they were available that way.

It would be nice to have on the cell phone.
