As I type this out, my son is headed out to his first Air Force duty station in New Jersey.
He grew up as my number one hunting buddy, and just like his Dad, Spring turkey is his favorite. He is taking his turkey gear with him. If there are any folks in that area who could point a new service member in the right direction, I would appreciate and would be willing to return the favor in our home state of Missouri.

He might have to wait until next year, Jersey is done with permits per zones. Does he have a car with him? I am more than willing to have him come hunt with me, will gladly show him around. I haven't turkey hunted around that area, used to deer hunt up there 40 years ago. As soon as he has time, he will need to go to a licensed agent, needs proof of hunter safety course.  //dep.nj.gov/njfw/hunting/wild-turkey-in-new-jersey/

My best hunting partner, also my son, moved up to Vermont. Getting old, wife doesnt like me hunting by myself. I live in Maryland, grew up in New Jersey, Maryland doesnt have a good huntable population in the area I live, so I run back over there to hunt all season. I was also in the AF back in the 80's.
Hooksfan, please have your son read Jersey regs. only allowed shot down to #7 1/2. Will pm you.

I believe he can probably still buy over the counter tags in certain units.

Unless I misread it prepping to go up there this year only allowed 7.5 IF it is a duplex or triplex round of a larger shot size such as magnum blends. I just said hell with it and will shoot them with lbxr. I have a whole box leftover from before I started on TSS.
