Everything is silent as daylight is breaking and the gobblers are pretty much silent as you moving around changing locations you get a gobbler to finally answer your calling and he's coming from what you can tell and all of a sudden another gobbler starts gobbling at this gobbler in trying to pull this gobbler away from you in thinking he's wanting that hen / hens and interferes with you possibly killing either gobbler. It's like those old hens that come into your calling and hang out for most of the time in your setup.  Gobbler Interfere ...

Great post. I know what I would do here. Fighting purr. Both those gobblers will not want an "intruder" sliding in, and probably run ya over.......Just my thought here....

Seen it happen more times than I'd like to remember! You'll be playing the game with a bird looking for love and here comes the intruder(s)... so many times, especially later in the season, they forget about the sweet hen tak and get to sorting out the pecking order... that dang pecking order between Tom's and Jake's can really wreck our day when we're trying to play the game... but that's just part of what makes it so frustrating, yet rewarding.

Bit of a catch 22. Sucks you have one gobbler pull the other away but it always means you're hunting a spot with more than one gobbler!

I've gotten lucky splitting the difference between separate toms on the roost. It can be a race to the finish. Though I tried this once and one Tom flew down first and was quickly closing the distance gobbling all the way in. Instead of looking for me he went around and to the base of the the tree of the other gobbler. What took place next was some of the nastiest turkey sounds I've heard in the woods. Unfortunately neither the victor or the loser was interested in much after that.

Reminds of the time i had 9 Toms show up and started fighting 150 yards from me.

Sometimes you just have to call it a day and come back a few days later.

A week later i killed one of them after days of silence. He came running down hill to me. He did not stop till about 10 feet from my hen decoy.
