I think your right, he got off easy. It could've resulted in death.

With what he did  by sabotaging the tree stand, erasing the camera card, spying on him knowing he cut the straps ( maybe hoping to watch the guy fall and get photos of it) is totally uncalled for.
He inflicted physical harm with the possibility of death. The man is lucky he only hurt is ankle; that we know of.
I'm thinking 3 to 5 plus pay any lost wages the man suffered and any medical bills and future therapy bills. It shouldn't have happened but 60 days doesn't send a clear message that this type of conduct will not be tolorated.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

No different than cutting somebody's brake lines on their car.   I hope this story doesn't end with his 60 day sentence.

I got harassed while waterfowl hunting on a refugee. The protesters were trying to intimidate me and it worked, they succeeded. I was worried they would vandalize my vehicle. To make matters worse, after the hunt while at my vehicle I got stoped by a game warden who thoroughly checked EVERYTHING I had. He put every shotgun shell I had in a device to check for non toxic, he checked my gun capacity, my license, state stamp,  federal stamp, refugee permit, hip permit. He checked the ducks I shot for species ID even my thermos! Everything checked perfect except I forgot to sign across the face of one of the stamps. I had to desperately talk my way out of a summons. Ironically, I bet the protesters called him. He was more of a harassment than they were. Worse successful hunt of my life.

He got off too easy, this is borderline attempted murder.

I think it said that he lost hunting in many states as well, I do not recall for how long though.

Sound like he may have been an anti himself. Could just doing his job thoroughly, but seems suspect to me. They may have had him on speed dial.

I could not agree more. There is a woman here (I am actually good friends with her family, they can't stand here and tried to have her committed.) and she is know for harassing hunters. Couple of waterfowl hunters recorded her on their cell phones and she got in quite a bit of trouble as I understand it but she is still at it. Her brother warned me to be very careful what I say if she has her briefcase with her, she has a mic and video camera installed in it. Funny thing is a few days before she had that in her car and had been pumping me for information. Of course she got none.
